GOOD GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

GRIEVING OUR LOSSES IN LIFE

St. James Episcopal Church

14 Cornwall St. , Leesburg, VA 20176

"Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted" (Sermon on the Mount).  Grief is about loss.  Grieving is the process of personal thoughts and feelings we experience when someone we care about dies.  The Good Grief Support group is offered as a safe place to share our experience about loss with fellow pilgrims in a similar situation.

2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, 7:30 to 9:00 pm

Contact:  Rev Bill Newland and the Pastoral Associates, 703-777-1124, info@stjamesleesburg.org

WALKING THROUGH THE VALLEY

Christ Episcopal Church, 5000 Pouncey Tract Road, Richmond, VA

Education Building, Room 207

Has someone you loved taken his or her own life?  Coping with a death by suicide is one of the most difficult journeys anyone can go through.  You don't have to do it alone.  Christ Church is hosting a support Group for people in West Richmond and neighboring communities who are grieving a death by suicide (a.k.a. suicide survivor).  This group is led by two trained facilitators.  One is a licensed clinician, and the other is a parent who lost her son to suicide and who received training through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. FREE OF CHARGE

Third Thursday of the Month, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Contact: Rev. Tasha Brubaker, (804) 364-0394

COMMUNITY OUTREACH GROUP

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Purcellville, VA

A partnership between St. Peter's Church and Loudoun County's Department of Mental Health.  The group is made up of men with mental illness and men and women from St. Peter's who get together for food, fun and fellowship.  For many of these men, just hanging out and doing "guy things," is something they are rarely invited to do.  Activities range from bowling, fishing, cookouts, and baseball games.  If you are interested in joining this endeavor, please contact us.

Meeting on the Third Thursday of the month from 6 to 8 pm
